Tall Ship Sail

Thursday night we took a "sunset sail" on the Lady Washington, Washington State's official ship. She was visiting Drayton Harbor in Blaine. Lady Washington is a "tall ship" that is a full-scale reproduction of the original Lady Washington. Built in the British Colony of Massachusetts in the 1750’s, the original vessel carried freight between colonial ports until the American Revolutionary War, when she became an American privateer. In 1787, after the war, she was given a major refit to prepare her for a unprecedented trading voyage around Cape Horn. In 1788, she became the first American vessel to make landfall on the west coast of North America. What an experience!
Can you say 6 MILES of rigging! Wow!

It's hard work hoisting a sail! One of the crew, looking the part.

She looks like she's enjoying it!

So does she!

It was a SUNSET sail after all - and what a sunset it was!

Summer camping trip

We had a fabulous week at Silverline Resort, on Lake Perrigyn near Winthrop. We generally had a lazy schedule! Breakfast, followed by fishing, lunch, swimming/floating the lake, followed by ice cream at Shari's, dinner & campfire, and perhaps more fishing!
Our campsite, with the dishes crew!
Cruising around Lake Perrigyn

The Fourth on Whidbey

I am a bit behind on posting, but will try to post the story of our last few weeks in pictures! We had a wondefully relaxing Fourth at Bill & Cheryl's on Whidbey Island. Beach time is always relaxing!

Another beautiful evening at the park

So, we can't resist the water when the weather is nice. Last night was no exception and found us at Boulevard with friends...
