1st day of school!

Today was the girls first day of school - 2nd and 4th grade. Wow, how the time flies. Mama is a little sad summer is over and we are back to the structure of the school schedule, but I guess I will adjust. We've just had so much fun this summer!

Rodeo Fun

Last week we decided to check out our local rodeo - it is on the professional circuit and promised to be good. Rob had never been, and I hadn't been for 20+ years, so I guess we were due. We met up with Joel & Cheryl and family and Gerald & Angela and family, which made it fun. I think those cowboys all need a chiropractor and massage therapist - boy do they take a beating. We laughed until our sides hurt at the little kids doing "mutton busting" - riding the sheep. It was hilarious! Not sure we'll go every year, but it was fun!

Sleepy girls

Thought this photo of the girls was so cute - this was taken at Milltown - we stay at the local little motel...

Colorado trip photos

Here are some of the highlights of our trip to Colorado...
The moving crew - early Wednesday morning - we had many miles to go that day!
The kids in front of the U-Haul trailer that Carissa and I pulled behind their Pilot
The BIG RIG - all 53' of it, from front bumper to back bumper
Sighttseeing...forgive all the pictures - I was truly awed and amazed by God's creation at this park!

The three gossips

Balanced Rock
One of the biggest arches we saw

This was a few miles down the road for comic relief I guess - we couldn't see a hole!

Destination Durango!

Just a quick update - we made it safely to Durango and to Trevor & Carissa's new home today around noon. We had the trucks and trailer unloaded and the critical elements (beds!) in place by 5 pm today! Their new home is beautiful and will serve them well. We had an awesome time at the Arches Park yesterday - truly spectacular scenery. We enjoyed a good dinner and some evening strolling in downtown Durango - it's a very neat little historic town. We'll look forward to coming back to do all the touristy things before too many moons. All for tonight - we are thinking of all at Milltown!

Road Trip!

We are on our first official family road trip and having a great time. We are accompanying our dear friends (Trev, Carissa, Wade & Dean) to their new home in Durango, CO. We had our longest day yesterday - from Lynden to Boise and therefore today seemed like a breeze - just from Boise to Salt Lake City. I never knew there could be so many flat, straight miles of road, lined with sage brush!! But it makes for easy driving with a U-Haul. Carissa and I have the kids in their Pilot, and are pulling a U-Haul trailer. Rob and Trevor are in the 26' U-Haul truck that is pulling Trev's pickup (which is also full!). We found our afternoon Starbucks yesterday, but weren't so fortunate today! Tomorrow we have another shorter day - we head to Moab and are planning to visit the Arches National Park. Saturday morning we plan to pull into Durango. We'll post a few pictures when we get home, but thought we'd post a little update.
