While in Oroville we met up with Grandpa Greg for some fishing. As you can see, there was success. Trout - YUM!

Tea Party

Grandma Glenda hosted a tea party for her grandgirls while we were in Oroville ~ here are a few of the pictures. As you can see they were dressed in tea party finery! What fun...what memories!

A day at the park

We primarily spent our day at the park today, two of them, in fact. This morning we took our little fishing boat up to Silver Lake to try our luck...you'll notice the obvious absence of any fishing pictures. We had a few bites, but nothing into the boat. Was fun to boat around, anyhow. This evening we took a picnic to Boulevard Park to enjoy the fabulous sunshine! The Bellingham Concert in the Park series kicked off tonight too and so that was fun. The featured performer(s) was the Geoffrey Castle Band. We had heard Geoffrey Castle at Seatac when we flew out to Puerto Rico in December. He plays a 6-string electric violin, which is pretty interesting to listen to! The people watching was superb as well! Here are a couple of the cutest people, playing on the rocks!

Kyoto Steakhouse

We enjoyed a good hibachi style dinner at the Kyoto Steakhouse on Thursday night with our friends Trevor, Carissa, Dean & Wade. The kids were highly entertained with the flying kitchen tools, big fire and spinning eggs (for the fried rice) ~ and the food was great too!

Lynden Burning

Well, it's a very wet day, but one of the most historic buildings in Lynden has burned this afternoon and is said to be a total loss. It will create a very big hole in downtown Lynden, as Delft Square is nearly a full block square. No word yet on the cause.

Bye, bye little birdies

Well, we have a sad resolution to our second family of robins. The mama is no longer visiting the nest and they have died. I don't know which came first - their death, or her desertion. But I noticed on Monday morning that they did not open their beaks wide like the first set when I would disturb the nest. Perhaps that is because the mama wasn't feeding them enough, I don't know, but I was reminded that without an appetite, we die, naturally and spiritually. So, we'll hope for another nest next year - we sure enjoyed watching "our" robins.
